Zaria was one of our College Fellows. With a passion for STEM (as a participant in the SPISE Program for summer 2022), and dance, she truly dominated this process. With full rides to Harvard, NYUAD and McMaster as a test-optional international student, Zaria is proof that with the right strategy, anything is possible.
Anna, a brilliant student with a passion for community service and working with children, always envisioned herself in California. Though Emory and UNC were strong contenders, Chapman ultimately was the perfect blend of academic and social life for Anna. A natural leader with too many extra curricular activities to list, Anna will be a wonderful additional to the Chapman community.
As an international student applying for significant financial aid, Taylor put tremendous work into her application. Even with her binding Early Decision application to Cornell, Taylor was ready with essays for other schools to submit in the event that she got rejected. Taylor was also one of our College Quo Fellows. Her grit and dedication truly paid off, and she is ivy-league bound.
Ramon, an aspiring Computer Scientist, received huge scholarships at some of the top liberal arts colleges in the USA. As a non-US citizen, this is no easy feat. Ramon was selected as the 2021 Lafayette Jamaica Scholar, and also received the Marquis Award at Lafayette, an honour only granted to 50 accepted students per year.
Leigha came to College Quo during her gap year, after not receiving the acceptances and scholarships that she wanted when she applied previously. Under our guidance, she was able to secure a scholarship worth USD $70,000 per year to a top liberal arts college in the US, Middlebury College. Though not sure what she wants to study, Leigha hopes to pursue her passions for music and journalism at Midd!
A talented artist and graphic designer, Dylan applied as an international student to Rice's Architecture program (Ranked #1 in the USA). Architecture at Rice has a record low acceptance rate of 2%, and even lower for international students. Through a clear demonstration of his passions in essays, Dylan was able to secure a scholarship worth USD $60,000 per year to Rice!
Samantha came to us knowing that she wanted to study in Canada, but also wanted a small campus environment. Her college list including a mix of larger traditional universities like the University of Toronto, and small ones like Acadia. Ultimately, she chose UBC's Okanagan campus where she gets the benefits of a larger school within a smaller campus environment!
What truly stood out about Ella's app were here essays. They were brilliant. After working on her common app and supplemental essays countless times, her authentic voice and writing style shined through. With full rides so some of the best universities in the USA, Ella's passion and commitment to service made her a prime candidate for a full ride to Stanford.
After we got to know Aulanni, we knew she would be the right candidate for Dartmouth. Upon research, she fell in love and decided to apply in the binding Early Decision round. With her passion for chess and working with kids, we were able to combine these in a strong "hook" for Aulanni making her a prime ivy-league candidate. Her passionate, hilarious personality will serve her well at Dartmouth and beyond.
What we loved about working with Kareena was that she didn't limit herself geographically, exploring all possibilities. NYUAD offers a unique experience to obtain an American-style education in the middle east, and we knew that it would be a great fit for Kareena. She worked hard on her applications, which paid off with NYUAD's record low 4% acceptance rate.
Khia, a STEM & Computer Programming enthusiast, received scholarships worth USD $75,000 per year to some of the top universities in the USA. After narrowing her choices down to both Hamilton & USC (two VERY different universities), she ultimately decided on USC!
Josh came to us with an unexpected academic hurdle, that could have hindered his acceptances and scholarship offers. Under our guidance, Josh was able to spin that challenge into a positive, allowing for acceptances to some amazing universities. Josh, a swimmer and artist, is a brilliant student who shows us resilience and determination — qualities that will allow him to succeed at UBC and beyond.
Lexi joined College Quo with a clear passion for the arts. With a deep-rooted family history in the automotive & racing industry in Jamaica, she combined her families interests with her passions to lead her to choose a career in Automotive Design! Admitted to some of the best design schools in the country, Lexi eventually decided on Parsons, ranked #1 in the USA for design. We know that her passions and talent will take her far!
Noah, our self-defined "slacker, but who we deem a brilliant aspiring engineer, got accepted to one of the top universities in the USA. He has an infectious and hilarious personality, that we know will serve him well at Notre Dame! We cannot wait to see the amazing things he does.
Tiana, one of our College Quo Fellows, is the definition of grit and excellence. Growing up in the rural community of Maryland, Hanover, Tiana commuted 3 hours everyday to school in Montego Bay. Her drive to serve her community, her academic prowess, and leadership initiatives, led to her receiving 4 full ride scholarships and 3 full tuition+ scholarships.
Savannah, or 'Sav' as we call her, was that student who took full control of her process. She was always in our office, and never gave up even when we gave her less-than positive feedback on her essays. As a STEM student and aspiring engineer, writing didn't come naturally to Sav. But she persevered, and re-wrote her essay a 50th time. Because of her passion for engineering and love of hands-on learning, when WPI came in with a full tuition merit scholarship, we knew it would be an awesome fit for her.
Matthew is a leader and visionary; a student who want's to impact the world around him. This made him a prime candidate for Barry's full-ride STAMPS scholarship, that requires rounds of interviews and several specialized essays. By working with College Quo and showcasing his commitment to service, Matthew was awarded this coveted scholarship.
Jordan came to College Quo after attempting to navigate the college prep process on his own. Under our guidance, he received a full-ride scholarship to NYU-Abu Dhabi, where he currently majors in Economics with minors in Urbanization and Applied Mathematics. He is also a member of NYUAD's Student Government, and serves as an Experimental & Behavioral Economics Research Assistant.
This past Hillel Academy deputy Head Girl got huge scholarships to top universities in the US and Canada. With scholarships worth USD $65,000+ to both UM and Emory, and CAD $25,000 to UofT, she had a tough choice to make. Ultimately, she decided on the University of Miami! She says that what she loved most about working with College Quo was how much we helped with essay writing, and bringing her authentic voice into the essays to allow them to shine!
The University of Toronto has alway been Tarun's dream, and he received the largest entrance scholarship (CAD $35,500 per year) that we have seen to any international student! This aspiring health professional is sure to make large moves at UofT and beyond.
When Kennedy decided to join the College Quo team, she was unsure what she wanted to study but knew that she wanted to ideally leave Florida and attend college on the East Coast! After visiting Clark, Kennedy fell in love and it became one of her top choices. Kennedy is an activist that uses her voice to spark change (she was even recently on CNN!) and we know that she will blaze a trail at Clarke.
This awesome past Hillel Academy Head Girl got into her top choice school, the University of Toronto, with scholarships worth over CAD $25,000 per year. She is an absolute star, and you may have seen her elsewhere on this website since she is now a College Quo intern!
Monique's story is one of our favourites. She came to College Quo during her gap year after going elsewhere and not getting the results that she wanted. With our guidance, she received a FULL RIDE scholarship to the University of Miami, her top choice. However, Monique evaluated her goals and realized that UWI was the place best suited for her, showing us that what is meant to be ours, will always find a way to us.
Tayla came to College Quo while attending boarding school because she realized that she needed personalized consulting to help her to reach her goals. So said, so done. This star student received acceptances to some wonderful schools in the USA, and is now a Clemson University tiger!
